School Displays: A Way to Promote your School.

Each school will make a display arranged by the principal and teaching staff of each school.  Each school will choose and arrange its own display in 10’ linear space. Table is provided by the Fair board.  The sum of $20.00 will be awarded to each school exhibiting.  Entries are to be made to the Secretary arthurfallfair@gmail.com  by September 1st 2020

 

Theme: “Family Ties and Homemade Pies”

Rules and Regulations

  1. Grade as of June 2020

  2. All entries to be in and ticketed by 11:30 am Friday, September 11th, 2020

  3. No entry fee required.

  4. All entries to be the work of the exhibitor

  5. One entry per person per class

  6. Every tag must have child’s age as of June 2020 in top right-hand corner

  7. Each student is assigned a membership number by their teacher and that number must be on the classroom entry form and on the student’s tag

  8. Exhibits MUST be picked up Sunday, September 13th, 2020 at 4:30 pm after removal from display by a Director. Please make arrangements with someone in the school to do this (Staff member or Parent Council member)

 

How to Enter:

1. Exhibits may be taken to the arena Thursday, September 10th, 2020 between 4:00 & 5:00 PM or before 11:30 am on Friday, September 11th, 2020

2.  Classroom Entry Forms to be completed at School by the teacher and handed in to the Committee – please keep a copy for 

        yourself.

 

Section A- Pre-School Children 

Prizes $4.00; $3.00; $2.00

1. Trace your foot and decorate it
2. Colouring book picture done with crayons
3. Draw, colour and label a picture of your favourite fruit
4. Best Dressed Teddy Bear or Stuffed Animal

Section B – Junior Kindergarten (Year 1)

Prizes $4.00; $3.00; $2.00

1. Create an animal using a tracing of your hand or foot
2. Make a snake or caterpillar from recycled materials – egg cartons, tissue rolls etc.
3. A necklace made from pasta or cereal, buttons or beads
4. Make a shaker using one toilet tissue roll. Decorate using any media

Section C – Senior Kindergarten (Year 2)

Prizes $4.00; $3.00; $2.00

1. Spell your name with seeds, any variety
2. Create a “jack-o-lantern” paper plate mask
3. Cut out pictures of healthy foods and glue them on a brown paper lunch bag
4. Draw a picture of yourself at the Arthur Fall Fair

Section D – Grade 1

1. Draw a large tree. Cut out magazine pictures of people and paste on tree background to make a "Family Tree"
2. Draw and colour a picture of your family car or truck
3. Make a “sponge painted” flower.
4. Decorate a toilet paper or paper towel roll to be a Christmas cracker

1. Create a butterfly using a coffee filter.
2. Print on lined paper 6 flavours of pie

1. A crayon or marker drawing of a car, van or truck
2. Draw and colour a picture of you eating your favourite pie
3. Print or write, on lined paper, the names of 8 varieties of fruit trees
4. Make a fireworks picture

Must have picture and sentence(s) to complete the phrase and be hand written.

Section G – Grade 4

1. A leaf rubbing.
2. Make a “pop-up” birthday card for a special friend/person
3. Design a place-mat showing the fair theme: “Family Ties and Homemade Pies"
4. Cursive writing – on lined paper, list the provinces, territories and capital cities of Canada.
5. Make a door knob hanger incorporating fair theme “Family Ties and Homemade Pies"

4. Cursive writing- on lined paper, list 10 Prime Ministers of Canada
5. Make a friendly ‘wanted’ poster of your favourite animal

1. A school/home-school history project.
2. A pencil sketch of a running shoe.
3. Cursive writing – on lined paper, write a recipe for your favourite pie
4. Cut a magazine picture in half and draw the other half
5. Design a pennant depicting this year’s fair theme “Family Ties and Homemade Pies"

4. A Hand drawn bumper sticker about your favourite music artist/group
5. Draw your dream vehicle of the future. Label unique features
6. Inukshuk, made of stones, no higher than 20 cm. (using heavy duty glue)
