MEDIA RELEASE: June 1, 2020

164th Arthur Fall Fair Cancelled due to Covid-19

Using all the information currently available to us from Public Health, the Board of Directors of the Arthur Agricultural Society have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Arthur Fall Fair which was to celebrate the theme “Family Ties and Homemade Pies”. We felt it was the right thing to do for our members, volunteers, sponsors, donors, vendors, and community.

Our dedicated volunteers are passionate about promoting agriculture in our community and we plan to continue those efforts in a safe manner. As a group, we prioritize the health and safety of our volunteers, community, and visitors which is why we made this decision.

Since our start in 1856, we have faced various challenges and our current situation is no exception. We are extremely fortunate to have generations of dedicated volunteers working together to organize our annual events and while we may not be able to host a traditional Fall Fair this year, the Board of Directors are excited about offering something a little different.

We still plan to bring agricultural awareness and homecrafts and other events to you in different formats. The logistics of this is in the planning stages currently. Please keep an eye out for our virtual ideas and social distancing events via our website: www.arthurfallfair.com; follow us on Facebook @arthurfallfair, and subscribe to Ag Tv - Arthur Agricultural Society on YouTube!

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at arthurfallfair@gmail.com or give President Carl Billiald a call at 226-820-2184. Stay safe and connected everyone! We cannot wait to be able to celebrate our fair and the theme “Family Ties and Homemade Pies” next year! (September 10th to 12th 2021.)

Sincerely Carl Billiald, President
and The Arthur Agricultural Society Board of Directors
